Journal: Introduction

These journal entries are a new way to consume my photography in a longer form, paired with a podcast that you can listen to while you scroll through each gallery of photographs. Each photo will be numbered, so as you listen we can follow along together and I can share stories and perspectives about each photo and you take take more away from it.

This idea really stems from a project Joe Greer(@ioegreer) started, with the goal of sharing more about photography.

Images today are consumed in such large quantities, each for fractions of a second - the goal of this is to really slow things down, and dive in to each photo a little further.

I’m not sure what the future of these entries will be; whether it’s pulling photos from my archive, editing those together and sharing the stories from those photos, or sharing scans of a new roll of film that I’ve shot in a day. A lot of these will be sharing things that I find interesting, but I’d love to hear your feedback on the entries. Let me know what you liked or didn’t, and share what you’d like to see/hear in future entries.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this new format of sharing photography. Shoot me an email or DM, tag me on an IG story, whatever - I can’t wait to hear from you.

While I love sharing these entries, and I can’t wait to see what these become, they do take a lot of time to put together. From taking the photos, to editing, to assembling them in a post, and then recording the podcast for you to hear the stories - a lot of hours go in to these in hopes that you’ll take something away from every post.

At the end of every post will be a contribution button, where you can share a coffee with me or another amount of your choosing. All contributions go directly back into producing more journal entries for you, so I greatly appreciate you considering to support.

Every post will be a little different, after a few we’ll get into a groove and perfect these further.

If you’ve made it this far, I thank you for taking the time out of your day - and I hope you enjoy the posts to come!
